At The 2017 Innovate Dance Event, students will discuss:

"WHY" we Dance! - Miss Katie provides Insight from Stanford University and How It Relates to YOUR Dancing
Dancing Through Life - In this segment, Miss Katie will give YOU theTOP 10 reasons dance is important for our self-esteem, confidence, health, and impacting the lives of those around us w/ discussion time
Takin’ It To The Streets - being your BEST version of yourself everyday, GIVE back to LIVE big — specific stories from theto the African slums to the dance floor in Minnesota - And, WHY YOUR story as a Dancer is important

Innovate announces that Cory Booker will teach at Innovate 2017. Cory has had the opportunity to take classes from choreographers such as David Moore, Napoleon and Tabitha Dʼumo, Kevin Maher, Rhapsody James and Luam, just to name a few. He has had the wonderful opportunity to perform as a cast member in the Minnesota hip hop production called “SHAPESHIFT.” Along with “SHAPESHIFT,” Cory performed as the opening act for “WEDAY” at the Excel Energy Center. He is also the recipient of the Monsters of Hip Hop Alvin Ailey Extension Scholarship. In the summer he spends his time working as a choreographer assistant at Show Choir Camps of America in Illinois and Ohio. We know you will love his fast-paced style and innovative choreography!

The 2017 INnovate Dance Event will be held February 3-5, 2017

Friday, February 3rd - Solo, duet and trio routine evaluation with Master class

Saturday and Sunday, February 4th-5th - Studio groups (each studio will come on ONE day, either 2/4 or 2/5). Groups will spend the day performing for LIVE evaluation, take 2 master classes, take an educational class, and perform a service project to give back to the community.

The 2017 Innovate Dance Event will be held at The Cowles Center in Downtown Minneapolis!
